Recommended seasons
The short Rothaar loop leads from Medebach into Hochsauerland. The ups and downs to Hallenberg are enough of a warm-up for the climb to Pastorenwiese. The second big climb is in Mollseifen and it gets even tougher in the Nuhnetal valley from Züschen up to Winterberg. The final stage is at the Elkeringhausen wall, after which you are rewarded with a speedy, dead-straight descent to Medebach.

Wearing a bicycle helmet should be a matter of course for all cyclists. Before setting off, check that your bike is in perfect condition. For demanding tours, we recommend packing plenty of drinks and snacks.
Safety guidelines
A rescue point system has been installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerlandkreis, Märkischer Kreis, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions of the Südwestfalen cycle network.
