After the start in Brilon, the tour follows the L870. Near the village of Gudenhagen, you ride along the Brilon TrailGround. Behind Hoppecke, the first major mountain stage awaits, which is then rewarded with a descent to the beautiful Diemelsee.
The longest climb of the tour begins behind Gieringhausen and leads to Willingen. In Olsberg, the last big climb over the Langer Berg has to be conquered before returning to Brilon via Scharfenberg.

A rescue point system has been installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerlandkreis, Märkischer Kreis, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found on the information boards at the junctions of the Südwestfalen cycle network.
