Hallenberg
The start is a leisurely one, as it takes us through the Medebach Bay, also known as the Tuscany of the Sauerland. The first long climb is the Medebach Schlossberg, but our legs are still fresh. We reach the well-known vacation resort of Winterberg via Küstelberg and Elkeringhausen. If you want, you can climb the highest point in NRW that is accessible by bike, the Kahler Asten. On a clear day, the Brocken in the Harz Mountains can be seen from here. One of the most beautiful descents in the Sauerland awaits, the Sorpetal. The climb over to Grafschaft, where several successful cycling events take place every year, is short and nasty. But now it's time to climb the Rothaargebirge. Tour de France flair comes to life on the hairpin bends to Jagdhaus. Relaxation is the order of the day on the descent into the Eder valley. The next few kilometers along the Eder are just as easy, before the Rothaargebirge once again drives the acid into your legs. From Dotzlar, there are around 170 meters of elevation gain to overcome before the long and fast descent down into the Lahn valley provides adrealin. Bad Lasphe is a good place to take a break. This is because you will be returning directly afterwards. From Puderbach onwards, it becomes barely noticeably steeper. The Edertal offers a brief respite. A few more climbs await the racing cyclist before the finish in Hallenberg is reached.
