This tour offers completely different landscapes of the Sauerland. On the one hand, the most characteristic element of the Sauerland, the Rothaargebirge mountains, and on the other, the open and very undulating Hawerland with its agricultural landscape.

After the start in Kirchhundem, you have a few kilometers to prepare your legs for the upcoming stage. The first hurdle is the climb to the Rhein-Weser-Turm, where you have to cross the watershed between the Rhine and Weser rivers. After a fantastic descent, you have a few kilometers to recover in the valley of the Eder. After that, the next challenge awaits: Once again, the Rothaargebierge must be conquered. Steep at first and then more leisurely as the climb progresses, the road winds its way from Aue-Wingeshausen up to Schmallenberg-Jagdhaus. Here there are several opportunities to replenish lost calories. This is followed by a great descent towards Fleckenberg, but beware: in a narrow hairpin bend, this tour turns left into the picturesque Uentroptal valley to reach Lenne. There follows a relatively short but not to be underestimated climb through Harbecke up to a wind turbine. Here, road cyclists can enjoy a sweeping view over the Hawerland. The descent to Werpe is rapid. You can relax on the section via Bracht and a serpentine descent to Oedingen and on the flat section to Oberelspe. Now it's uphill one last time to Halberbracht. Then, between Altenhundem and Kirchhundem, you have the opportunity to crank the tension out of your legs.
