Directions

On the squirrel's trail to the Green Trail adventure!Let's go! First we follow the red squirrel, which leads us from the starting point through the beautiful Strycktal valley. We roll past the impressive Mühlenkopfschanze - the largest ski jump in the world! And always along the babbling Itterbach stream, which accompanies us on gentle paths towards Hochheide. At the end of the valley, the only long climb of the tour awaits - up to the state border between Hessen and NRW. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with great views and fresh mountain air! Here we follow the old boundary stones to the right until we reach the small refuge "Zum Streit".Now it gets exciting: the path splits at this point. The red squirrel tour turns off here.We follow the black squirrel - so continue straight ahead! After a few meters, we reach the large Lütteke Feld junction - this is where the real fun begins:We dive into the Green Trails - child-friendly, flowing bike park trails with gentle curves, waves and small berms. The first section leads gently downhill - really fun, but never too difficult! Then we continue briefly on a gravel path - perfect for taking a deep breath - before the next uphill section to the "Große Grube" begins. It's worth taking a short break here: at a reconstructed historical charcoal pile, you can find out how charcoal used to be made for iron processing - a little glimpse into history! One last uphill - and we're already on the Ettelsberg, Willingen's local mountain. A whole realm of adventure awaits you at the top:Landscape playgroundmountain lakeHigh heath tower with far-reaching viewsAdventure trails with "Linne" and "Rike the caterpillar"And if you're hungry: Siggi's hut - but only recommended during the week with children! And now? Off we go on the descent! We roll back down into the valley on the Green Trail - flowy, playful and with lots of little fun moments. But beware: children need breaks downhill too! It's good that you keep crossing small paths where you can stop for a moment and take a deep breath.

Equipment
